Our story

Nydam’s Landscaping began in 1980 when Douglas Nydam graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture with a degree in Landscape Operations and founded the company with just one truck and one employee. What started with light landscaping projects and spring cleanups in the Uxbridge, Northbridge, and Douglas area steadily grew into a trusted landscaping company serving communities throughout the Greater Blackstone Valley.

In 2004, at just 17 years old, Victor Vieira joined Nydam’s Landscaping. Having recently come to the United States from Brazil and speaking little English, Victor started working alongside Douglas and learned the landscaping business from the ground up. Over the next two decades, he gained experience in every aspect of the company, developing not only his skills in the trade but also a deep understanding of the hard work, quality, and commitment to customers upon which Nydam’s was built.

In May 2025, after more than 20 years with the company, Victor and his wife, Rayssa, purchased Nydam’s Landscaping from Douglas. For Victor, becoming the owner was more than a business opportunity. It was the continuation of a company he had dedicated most of his working life to.

Today, Nydam’s Landscaping remains a family operated company, carrying forward the foundation Douglas established in 1980 while beginning a new chapter under the Vieira family. With the same commitment to quality workmanship and dependable service, Nydam’s continues to provide comprehensive landscaping, construction, and commercial snow services throughout the Greater Blackstone Valley.

From one truck and one employee in 1980 to the company it is today, much has changed, but the values behind the name have not. We are proud of where Nydam’s began, grateful for the foundation Douglas built, and excited to continue growing while serving our customers and community for generations to come.
